Thanks to a top forecast an offshore trip was on.
reefmaster came along heavily burdened by the oversize tackle, and we were off to the pin bar to test it out :o I believe its all in one piece ::) it wasnt an easy crossing with breakers all over the place but we made it out to what were glassed off conditions.
We went a long way north and found green water out to 70m, not good for marlin fishing but you gotta try. After a couple hours of no bites we were out near 90m in somewhat better water, i was asleep or close to it greg wide awake im sure ;)when out of the monotony the short corner lure was belted, greg jumped onto the rod and the marlin took to the air :o in a matter of seconds it was well out after a good 5 jumps and then the hook came out, ****.
that was our one shot and with the water generally looking worse all the time some bottom bashing was called for, the pinnacle had some nice squire for this time of year and we ran out of bait before we could get a nobby ;D cheers for a top day Greg.
