Hi guys thought you might like to see this, it impressed me.
A young fella who is a customer at work asked me if i would take him out and show him how to catch a whiting, this is the result of half an hours fishing - 46cm.
Fish was released, one happy young fella, cheers wayne9035990360

You sure it's not a soapie? :P Wouldn't even call that an elbow slapper. More like a shoulder slapper.

Dean before i moved to the Gold Coast i did a lot of research on where was the best area to whiting fish for both size and numbers, the Goldy won hands down.
In the 18 years i have lived here nothing has happened to change my opinion, in fact if anything over the last couple of years they seem to be getting bigger.
Only one thing in the water that they need and that is food, heaps of it, cheers wayne

Longest one i have ever seen! Congrats to the young bloke. I pulled some monsters after all the rain to 44cm on bunches of worms intended for jew and thought they were big but that sucker takes the cake! Ben

Yes the Gold Coast can produce good sized whiting in certain locations at certain times of the year. Have a look at these caught off the bank by my mate last year.

Gecko, sorry mate don't understand the question, if it is about showing people how to get worms then yes i have but they have to be very trusted mates.
Worm banks can be wiped out very quickly if not managed properly, i think there is a video of me worming on you tube somewhere, cheers wayne

Nice one. I'm sure the young fella was stoked. The only time I have seen a whiting that big was snorkelling at heron island. There are some seriously big ones there that cruise the flats on high tide.
