so wayne when are you going to tell me what it is you guys put in the water down there??sure is a cracker of a fish...
Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.
You sure it's not a soapie?Wouldn't even call that an elbow slapper. More like a shoulder slapper.
Dean before i moved to the Gold Coast i did a lot of research on where was the best area to whiting fish for both size and numbers, the Goldy won hands down.
In the 18 years i have lived here nothing has happened to change my opinion, in fact if anything over the last couple of years they seem to be getting bigger.
Only one thing in the water that they need and that is food, heaps of it, cheers wayne
Longest one i have ever seen! Congrats to the young bloke. I pulled some monsters after all the rain to 44cm on bunches of worms intended for jew and thought they were big but that sucker takes the cake! Ben
I would have released it too - into some flour, hot oil, salt and pepper and a squeeze of lemon...

Good size whiting.
Cheers, Doug.
Love to use Preditek or Kingfisher lures or Viva Lures when I am out fishing.
Never tire of seeing fish like that ! Fish of a life time congratulations to student and mentor well done

Yes the Gold Coast can produce good sized whiting in certain locations at certain times of the year. Have a look at these caught off the bank by my mate last year.
Another 46,I can't seem to break the 45 i caught years back. Ben
Massive fish youngy. I don't suppose you take guys out for work digs?
Fishing- It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit.
Gecko, sorry mate don't understand the question, if it is about showing people how to get worms then yes i have but they have to be very trusted mates.
Worm banks can be wiped out very quickly if not managed properly, i think there is a video of me worming on you tube somewhere, cheers wayne
Nice one. I'm sure the young fella was stoked. The only time I have seen a whiting that big was snorkelling at heron island. There are some seriously big ones there that cruise the flats on high tide.
