I have an old Abu 5500 overhead that I absolutely love. 25 years of being bashed about has meant that it is getting a bit sloppy. I don't want to go buy another reel and would rather rebuild this back to its original or even better tolerances to how it was when it left the factory.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has done a hardcore rebuild of an old reel? I have a lathe and a milling machine, plus access to a huge range of other bits and pieces so if I have to make something its not going to be an issue. Anyone?
