oh yeah using it for flicking plastics at bream and flatties in the estuaries and will be spooling it up with 4lb fireline. Have bought the rod it is a 7ft shimano squidgy 2-4kg spin
Buying a new reel and just deciding which to buy have narrowed it down to 2 and they are the Daiwa Kastor1500 and shimano sedona1500.
Just wondering what some of u guys think of the reels and what your opinions are on them
thanks
tom

I was unaware the Sedona was still in the shimano production line. I know it is still widely sold, but is it still being manufactured in the current model lineup?
If you have the extra dollars, go the stradic 1000 as Vertico suggests... ???
For what its worth, i've got the Daiwa Kastor 2000 and it is a top outfit. I've spooled it with 8lb braid, and 15 pd leader, and have halued in some large fish on it without a drama. I take care of it tho, wash after every use in clean water, and take it apart now and then for a service. It also came with a spare spool to rig up with heavier line, or lighter line and has 5 ball bearings......(i should get on Daiwa's payroll after this!)
either way, i'm sure you'll get some good advice on your purchase.
Cheers,
Hutcho
