Bought a few bags of split rings in bulk a few yearrs ago & have run out of the size I want to use, (buggered if I can remember what brand they were, but they was goodun's, before they run out
Any ideas on whats the strongest,non licorice sort of rings out there at the moment ?
i think my current box are VMCs which i've had for many years - 50 rings is a lot of rings - what was I thinking?
the only thing I really look for is that they are stainless & have tapered ends on the wire that forms the ring so there is less tendency to grab.
like swivels most people go a bit excessive on rings I reckon - your rig is only as strong as the weakest point usually your line (unless you do a lot of tackle backing) - the ring chosen should match the hook used & the wire gauge on the lure to best enhance its action not really its breaking strain which will be sufficent any way
