I'm thinking of adding some markings to most of my rods at different lengths to mark out the legal length of common species of fish (like a tape measure).
Obviously I could just wrap some different coloured tape or something around at whatever lengths, but I was wondering if anyone else has marked their rods up like this (yes, i get bored easily :p) and has some funky/interesting designs instead of just plain bands to mark the lengths.
If you wanted to get really artistic you could get little colour pictures of the specific fish glue them to your rod at the appropriate measurement. (Give them a good coating of epoxy to waterproof.)
Only downside is you'll have to re-do your rod every time the DPI change regs ???
Also if you have a Shimano "Backbone" rod you might get caught with undersized makos!
