    Angler Rods (Pacific Composites)

Has anyone had good/bad experience about Angler Rods?
I believe they are made up on Pacific Composites blanks which were supposedly quite good? The pricing on them is quite attractive ...is there a catch???

    Awesome Rods .... I have a 10kg rollered and a 4 kg baitcaster ....

Ask Rob "Mackmauler " about them .... thats how he got his name ...

Angler "Mackmauler" is a pair of the artillery he keeps on board...

Amazing! You can actually still get a good product for a reasonable price! Maybe we should keep it quiet or they'll increase the $$'s

    Re: Angler Rods (Pacific Composites)

i had a pacific composite rod for about a month before i broke it, in that time i only had limited use of it but found it to be a very nice rod.

a mate of mine builds rods and said that if i get a new blank he'll knock me up a new one. i just got a call back from the tackel shop, it's going to cost me $170 plus postage for a new blank, that's a bit high when the whole rod cost me $200. said they dont make them any more and there were only two left.

should i ring back and ask them what were replaced with and see if they are any cheaper??

Yeh, no worries. What type/model was it? How did you break it... ona a fish? or the dreaded car door/ceiling fan ??

Must say i had a look at em last weekend and felt thatthere must have been something wrong with them.

But after all these glowing reports i am going to real consider get 1 or maybe evn 2 cause they seem to be half the price of the others

I've had one for 18 years "Black Magic Extra Special" purchased from Darcy Glovers Barber shop and sports store while holidaying at Caloundra in 1986. Has only ever needed replacement runners and clean up every couple of years now as its just starting to show signs of age and travels.

I had an interesting experience with an Ultragraph 3000 baitcaster rod. I slipped while getting out of the boat and broke it > I remembered the fixed price replacement policy and paid my money and a new arrived but it had hyperlon grip not cork like mine so the shop got the right one in and kept the first one for stock. When I got home it was obvious that the old rod and the new were not the same

I checked the one back at the shop and my theory is that I had an Ultragragh4000 badged as a 3000.

    So much for quality control.
