Hi everyone,
Happy 2005 and I wish you all many great fishing trips.
Had a go with my new PENN Applause today. Didn`t get any fish, but the reel went well. It looks a bit like a giant Daiwa
capricorn with it`s big tubular bail arm. I`ve only used it for floating pillies so far, but it should be good for luring macks
5.1:1 gear ratio and a large diam` spool. Good price too.

Anyhow, apart from that, I was wondering what you guys
use for bottom fishing. I use a tld 15 with 15 kg line and a
60lb trace and a sinker above a no 6 suicide hook. Usually put half a pillie on. Do any of you guys use something similar to this?

I mainly use the paternoster rig. 2 hooks above eack other and a sinker on the bottom. i mainly use squid when i go out deep sea which isnt very often.
