Most reels that have side throw antireverse levers on them have the anti reverse mechanism positioned under the rotor head as opposed to the slide button types that engage onto a dog somewhere on the main gear.On the lever types the antireverse is connected via a metal rod running the internal lenght of the reel body, the baitrunner because of the cams and clutches in the baitrunner system can not rout it this way so it is positioned on the under side of the reel outside the body connected via a very short shaft.Interestingly some of the newer reels on the market today don't have an antireverse mechanism at all which in my opinion is good as the only thing I think it's good for is puting the reel back in the box.
