I use an improved albright, I can tie it drunk sober in the dark or in daylight.

Because I am blind all the time, I use the albright.
Never lets me down.
I mainly use it when joining fireline to vanish leader. Easy knot to learn, quick to tie and great strength.

Improved albright with a dob of super glue.... or Uni knot .
Uni knot is strong as... but is a bit bulky with heavy leaders

Re: the best knot to join braid to mono
I use three different knots depending on the line class. When using 6lb braid with light leader i use a stren knot. 10lb braid to leaders up to 20lb i used a uni to uni knot, but i double up the braid to prevent it cutting into the leader. And finally when fishing with heavy leader i use and albright knot. Each knot has its own pros and cons and won't bore everone by listing them, but i will add that i believe that it comes down to personal preference to what you use.

Yeah,
I'm another person who uses the improved albirght with a dob of superglue. I mainly use around 20-30lb braid going onto 60-80lb mono for barra and trolling, etc.
I find it goes through the runners well (when trimmed closely) and doesn't seem to let go.. I've straightened trebles before it's let go.

Hi Again,
# # # # #A site that actually walks you through tying the knot is www.marinews.com. I found this #helpful for those of us who just don't get the pictures.

There are a mile of sites that show knots. Just google "fishing knots" Here is a sample http://www.tnoutdoorsmen.com/knots.htm
I use the stren knot - which can be found at www.stren.com and just lately I have started to play with the yucatan knot.
