BC200 Baitcaster Advice

I bought a Shimano BC200 slimline baitcaster yesterday and used it today for the first time, I managed to get a couple of tangles whilst getting the right cast settings and the line (6Lb mono) managed to work its way between the spool sides and the body of the reel.

How do I seperate the body? On my JW cheapie there are 3 thumb screws that allow seperation and removal of the spool, on the sc200 there are no such screws......I need to learn how to do this, it cost me a lot of line today untangling...

Have put pics below, the red circle is where the line goes into the cavity between spool and body/casing.

Remove the 2 screws that hold the top-front plate on (the plate with metal bar on top) Then the 3 screws that hold the handle-side plate on. That should give you access to remove the spool.

I have that reel and on mine I seem to remember that to remove the spool, I had to remove the LHS, not the handle side, by twisting it off.

I checked last night and you have to remove the 2 screws either side of the thing at the top front (over the level wind), then twist forward with your left hand and the left hand side plate comes off. The spool can now drop out.

Ok thanks for that guys, will practice at home....although the shop girl tells me that 6lb mono is too light for this reel and that I should be using 20lb braid.

Reckon I'll just get used to it before putting brain on, I'm not real proficient at untangling braid and reckon it may take a while to get used to this new magnetic drag control as well....technology who needs it.....

Geese how easy is that....geese pity the fisher lady at the shop had no idea of how to do it.

She's obviously used to using TLD's & Flueggers chasin the B - I - G ones.....
