    Graphite rods

I believe graphite rods let you cast further which is great for chasing schools of macs/tuna, but are they up to the task strength wise? Is it worth the extra expense to go with graphite over glass if your chasing pelagics?
    Cheers,
    Peter.

    And I'll third that!!
A lot of the graphite rods on the market now, are no more expensive than glass/ composite rods.
Many are also way stronger than some of the older types.
Most graphite rods are broken by "high sticking" treated right you should have no problems at all.

What brands of surf graphites do people use? I am interested in moving away from my trusty schneider glass even though it has served me well. Its just feeling a bit heavy these days and I watched a guy with a graphite throwing some big weights out alot further than me. #
