I have just purchased a AVET MXL 6.0 over head reel, wasn't really looking for one but at the price I got it for couldn't say no. I would like to set it up to target snapper, tuna etc(any big fish). It has a 360yds/20lb line capacity and a 6.3-1 gear ratio. What length and wieght rod would you suggest, also with not a huge line capasity would you suggest to go to braid because I don't know if I really want to go much lighter than twenty pounds. I am a keen soft plastic fisherman so the lighter the rod and reel suggestions the better but I don't want to go too light that it would lose the big ones.

I have checked at a couple of tackle shops and they suggest a 17lb 7"6' rod.
Any help muchly appreciated.
