I have bought 2 gilmaster rods a 10 foot beach for me and an 8 foot one for my mum.. both are ok for the price but nothing special. I also bought 2 forsyth 13 foot beach rods for a measley 30 bucks for the pair (one for my dad and one for me).. But you get what you pay for.. Just this weekend I took one of the forsyths on a 2 day trip up rainbow beach. When I put my trusty mitchel reel onto it I discovered that the reel seats dont line up with the rod guides. Very frustrating!! I swapped back to the gilmaster and managed a few nice tailor and dart on it for the trip. The gillmaster is nice and light the forsyth is VERY heavy. Although it does have an extra 3 feet. However I tested it againt my 13 foot snyder and the forsyth is even heavier than that. So if your interested I have a slightly used forsyth beach rod for sale
