    Jigging takle

    G-day

Could some one let me know of a couple of good outfits for jigging off the goldie?

I allready have a couple of 15 and 24 live fibres with tlds but would prefer to keep them for baits.

    Sorry Wife was reading............

Even though I did there are outfits that are not that expensive, BUT
I would save and get what is going to do you the job for a long time.

    Re: Jigging takle

How much are you willing to spend?
Spin Stella 10000 with 24-37t-curve or smith nairi. The 10000is more versitile than the 20000 or Daiwa Saltiga expedition
Overhead. Boss Accurate with custom calstar or g-force30-80 pound rod.
    My opinion.

    Re: Jigging takle

    Another question for Grave41,

You recommended the Stella 10000 over the 20000 because it is more versatile. I assume you mean it is better for chucking poppers and stuff? I am thinking about a similar big threadline outfit, and was thinking along a similar line, but was concerned about the higher retrieve ratio making it more difficult for jigging in deeper water. Note I haven't actually done any jigging yet but am keen to try. If spending that sort of money I certainly would prefer a more versatile outfit, but without being less than ideal for the major use ie. jigging.

    Your comments would be appreciated.

    Hey Banshee,

Your mate with the Tiburon, Does he find it to be very heavy?
That was what turned me off both the Tiburon and the Duel's

    Re: Jigging takle

G'day Kiktz,he has nothing but praise for it,both he and I use overheads with the rods in the gimble belts so the weight dosen't seem to be to much, the only real drawbacks that I can pick is the clicking that comes out of the double spring loaded anti reverse palls and the binding up that seems endemic to all lever drags when the drag is screwed right up on them, the positives for this reel are that it can pull more drag than any other overhead I've seen and also you can get the same reel with a few dfferent gear ratios,I think you can get a few interchangeable gears and drag washers in a kit for the one reel(at a cost).

    Re: Jigging takle

Thanks for your reply Banshee, I think youare right about being able to get different gear ratios. As I said I looked at these and the are a very good reel.
Either under rated or just not known in these parts.

    Cheers Aj
