    Type of mono for trolling?

I am thinking about some different line for my tld 25 this yr, has anybody got opinions on stren mono? i see a lot of guys using it, its not overly cheap thou. I have some of that Iron silk on my other tld and found it to be quite good, also tried trilene but not too impressed with it so far.

I'll be chasing dollies , hoo and marlin with this line.

Jas, I use STREN 15kg on my Tiagra 20's and it's great for tying knots. It's especially good for tying doubles because it's sort of hard and doesn't really have problems with memory and twists. Some game fishos will tell you that they don't like STREN anymore because a year or 2 ago there was batch of 15kg that was released and labelled wrong so was breaking way below the stated strain but it's all good now and worth the extra $.

    STREN.

Have used it for 2 seasons now. The issue with the 15kg line was that it was actually incorrectly labelled 10kg from memory. No problems with it now.

It has a very reliable breaking strength, relatively low diameter and excellent abrasion resistance. To prove the abrasion resistance, geet a lenght of mono and rub it rapidly with a piece of cloth or something. Some mono's only take a couple of passes, but stren takes way more.

While it may cost more, you won't get unexplained breakoffs and it lasts longer. Just remember to keep it in a dark area or covered when not in use. As with any mono, sun is its worst enemy.

Bought momoi in bulk, no probs. before that was hawk, which caused some dramas with unexplained breakoffs for apparently no reason

mate i have been using stren for some time now and not once has it let me down, the high visablity is EXCELLENT for trolling as u can see where your lures are at all times. i also like weiss which is what that blue tiagra line is and ive been using that for a long time and never had it fail on me.
    good luck buddy
