    is this a fishing item??

    a mate of mine bought a huge tackle box at a garage sale had lures hooks etc etc full of good stuuff but this thing was in it photos attached have no idea what it is or what it's for. help if anyone out there know's.

    I have seen one of these before. The guy was using it to cut "scallops" out of shovel nose fillets. He would then put the "scallops" into plastic bags with a small amount of salt water and flog the bags of so called scallops for $10 in the local pub. He could not make enuf of these "scallops". He had a lot of repeat customers and I never heard of a complaint going his way. cheers baldy

    scallop cutter would be a good guess, not much wroung with them with out the pink roe

    They use something a bit similar to that to punch a hole between the eyes of large tuna. Can then zap their brain and stop em flapping all over the place.
