    Braid Scissors

Anyone found a brand that stay sharp ?? I use them for Fireline but I find they don't stay sharp for very long - couple months at most. Too expensive to be chucking away every six months. They still work fine for mono but just fray the braid the same as a knife. Might have to go back to nail clippers I think.

ive found the big black scissors that u get with kitchen/filleting sets work a treat, the ones with the big blades, its kinda hard to explain. i think mine are force ten from kmart or something, i got them with my filleting set. they work well on fireline. as the action is more of a crush and sever then just slicing, i think theyed work better longer. due to this action, you have to put some tention on the piece ur trying to cut, but thats fairly standard anyway.
    hope that helps
    cheers

I've found that the little scissors on victorinox swiss army knives work a treat for cutting braid and they don't seem to rust either.

    Re: Braid Scissors

I use the small cheap (2-3$) nail scissors.
If they get blunt just replace.

This type of gear can also be found "free" in the cosmetics/others section of wifes stuff.

It is "free" to take but some other risks are involved...

Wish I knew Scotty. In the original plan where the house was to sell relatively quickly, I was supposed to move up last weekend. So every Qld fishing report from now on is going to pee me off even more . Dropped the price a bit more yesterday so we will see what the next couple weekends bring.

    Cheers
