If you havent the money to go graphite or live fibre, i did some tests on some 6-8kg Angler Advantage PCF rods, and they did the job fine, they give a 12months warranty.
There about half price compared to live fibre. Not saying there the bees knees but for a PCF they'll handle anything the Bay can throw at you.

I think I had a look at them at bmart Brian - I reckon they are a good buy with fuji running gear and a decent pacific composite blank all for $99 bucks. Havin a live fibre is nice but if you dont want to spend that much on a rod these ones will do a good job on the spotties/tuna if you look after it and use the reel drag patiently.

Dazza, I have used quiet alot of outfits for spinning and jigging for tuna, macks, trevally etc. and have found the graphite albagraph blanks the best by a mile. They cast alot further and alot flatter. They also allow you to knock the fish up alot quicker with there fast taper, and are very light which helps. Way better than the uglies and power tips a few are mentioning (have they used a top of the range rod to be able to compare?). Spend the money and you won't be dissapointed.
