I was looking at getting a Gaff for when I fished the Urangan Pier but all the Gaffs I have looked at look to be to short . What kind of Gaff does everyone use at the end of the Peir? Any suggestions would be great .
Could use a cliff gaff,it slides down your line with a nylon rope attached in much the same fashion as a tackle back, couple of different ones about or Ive also seen a dillie type net used with limmited success of bridges around here.
Peir gaffs can be bought from the B&T at the end of the Pier for $38.50 for a three prong with 12m of rope on it or the four pronged gaffs are a little dearer. I didnt buy a clip but they are about $12, I think.
yup, the one big unit suggested is probably the most common one used esp on tuna. they dont clip them on. just hang them over the edge in the water and jag the tired fish by pulling up.
cheers
