downriggers

Hi, I want to use a downrigger for mackeral in MB, any tips on lures,bait,speed etc please.

Don't like to see a new member not have his q's responded to Gelsec.
Plenty here use downriggers, but not always for trolling.
it is best to get one and give it a go. They need a fair bit of practice and trial and error and you will need someone with you when trolling with it.
You will get a lot of drag on the lines so speed is limited- there fore lower speed lures are better. Get a fast action lure to excite the mackrel.
I recomend a CD9 Rapala in the quantas colours.
