cleaning reels.
Hey,
I was just wondering if it matters if you get anything on your line while you are cleaning your reels. Re:WD-40 or sumthing like that because ive heard if you put suncream on your face then you use your reel the fish wont bite because they smell the scent. Is this true?
thanks for your advice.
cheers

Re: cleaning reels.
I believe that WD40 will not do the resins in the spectra/deema any good. prob a good idea to keep it away from the line.

Re: cleaning reels.
your best bet it to remove the line of your reel first, either with a drill on a spool or an spare reel/handline, the instead of wd/40 use lanox, as it wont damge any components even line, and it's non harmful in cases of accidental ingestion, you will smell like a wool shed though

Re: cleaning reels.
If you would just like to give your reel a quick touch-up, Innox is a very good product that has none of the nasty chemicals like other spray on degreasers/protectors, that wil not harm your line.
I also use it fishing rods, it gives them a nice new shine and will not seperate resien if you fishing rod needs repairs.
Cheers,
Gav.

Re: cleaning reels.
Ive been told WD40 will not hurt the line or reel so I douse both in WD40, so far so good, no probs here. However only been doing it for 12 months so I guess time will tell.
