TLD25
How do you guys keep your 25 clean and lasting.
I come back from a trip and hose it down then spray them with Innox. I've been told this is good for them, Is this right?
Or is there a grease hole somewhere on the reel to grease it better. When I questioned the tackle shop they said there was no grease nossle, came home had a nosey and it does not really appear to be a nipple to grease properly on there either. So I hose and spray, is this correct?

Re: TLD25
I've had my TLD25 for about two years and have tried my very best to destroy it. I opened it up last night for the first time, afraid of what I'd find but was amazed at how good it was. I didn't pull the spool apart (spool houses the drag) but put a bit of grease on the main gears and oiled the bearings I could get to. Only found some minor wear to the anti-reverse, and virtually no corrosion. They're a tough reel, but don't be afraid to take it apart for some oil. There's no real surprises (without pulling the spool apart).
cheers,
steve

Re: TLD25
When you hose it down do it with the lightest spray possible with drag on full then spray a cloth with inox and give it a wipe then back off the drag for storage. Should last for a fair while.

Re: TLD25
use grease on the preset knob and main shaft, I strip mine completely every 6 months as they cop a lot of saltwater, the preset knob is the first thing to cause trouble though.
