If it just a reel, and ur happy with the diawa, go for a laguna or similar in the size that suits u. they are around $150. Alternitively, go for a shimano in a similar price range, both are good brands and have very similar technology etc. Leave the jarvis Walker alone, ive had nothin but trouble with em. for the same amount of money, youll get a better reel in either of the two brands above. Basically, get the best reel u can afford in the brand that u prefer. go to a good shop that stocks close to the full range of models of mid priced reels in ur prefered brand and try em out. dont necisarily have to buy from them, get an idea of the brand and model and go shopping.
    hope that helps
    cheers

get her a saltiga, if it were a diamond ring you had to buy her it would cost around the same. that way you get to fish with it when she stays at home. just shows you how usless a diamond ring is.

I have the Diawa Laguna and the Shimano Symetre. They are both excellent reels with the Shimano slightly my favourite.

If you are going to spend up to $200, get her a stradic. Amart all sports does them for $199 in the 1000 size

I'd also check out the Penn Spinfishers. Been around for ages, built like a tank, easy to get parts for, 5 year warranty, great drag straight out of the box that lasts, and the reel itself will last forever (well a long time at least). Should be able to get one under $200 without any trouble.

    cheers,
