Re: Olympic dolphin 625 spec?
Check out www.ebay.com. The American site often has these vintage Olympic reels for sale. They are #IMO very good quality, mostly stainless steel components, at least equal to a Penn of the same size. Olympic made many reels for other brands such as Garcia (Kingfisher overheads) and some of the Senators at one stage I believe. The 625 is a levelwind I believe, not sure of line capacity, however, prob about 250 - 350 mtrs 10kg or so. I have an Olympic Dolphin 614, similar to 3/0 Senator, holds about 300 mtres 10 kg, the 61 series were non levelwind, 62 series with levelwind. IMO, very good reel if in good nick and at the right price, strong, simple, you can change the drag washers to teflon if you want (I have), perform very well and very durable, but it's not a TLD or a SLD, great for snapper and spotties etc however. I paid about $60 or so for mine in excellent cond, infinitely better value than any modern reel at the same price!
