for chasing the fish your targeting id be looking at a light spinning outfit a rod around the 7ft mark upto 6kg, and a spin reel in the 2500 range.
in kmart you might find a few outfits meeting this criteria.
depending on your price range depends what you would go for.
a few decent spinning reels include
Shimano Aernos, Sedona, Daiwa Samurai 3i. all under the $100 mark
rod wise some of your silstar spin sticks or ugly sticks would do the job. again under the $100 mark
a good idea would be to head to a specialist tackle shop and the staff should be able to see you in the right direction.
