    Braid to Mono mainline join

    Gday,

Whats the best knot to join 80lb braid to 80lb mono main line... braid is .5mm and mono is .8mm

It will be going through runners not rollers..

Gotta do this tommorow and havent done it before..

The way that i do it and have never had a problem with it coming apart or through guides or runners is; I put a bimini in the braid and then use an albright - an 'improved aussie albright' to be more specific. The extra twists in the aussie albright help with the braid.

Apart from this - splicing is prob the only other low profile method that will adequately join braid and mono with enough strength for your line class.
