Thread: Bad batch of Finns ?

Just spoke to the distributers about the problem.
Apparently... There was a batch of Finns sent to Australia that was meant for the European market (different formula )
They have taken it off the shelves and are waiting for a new batch to arrive next week. It has always been great stuff, and the 50lb I am using at the moment would pull a truck over sideways!! No questions asked replacment for the bad batch. Anyone having probs should return as much of the bad stuff as they have left to thier tackle shop

    Regards, Tony

A guy i met the other week works in a Tackle shop on the gold coast . He said when they get a carton of braid in the manufacturer always throws in a dozen spare spools to replace any that are falty. Makes you think doesn't it???

That is the only line used on my boat, both deckies & me , I have 3 different sets of gear with it on, 30-80 lb.
Have found it to be really good, except one time, half way through winding on a 600mtr spool of 80lb was the biggest dag in the line, sent it back & no probs since.

Platil Millennium or spidrwire best braids I've used for casting,in that order.
whiplash- What a load of rubbish, had two spools both would break when casting out let alone being hit by fish never to be on my reels again .

The normal finns is really soft and supple, the suspect batch felt more like fireline.

Which braid company throws in a dozen spare spools???

Told a mate about suspect finns and he checked his 50lb stuff it broke consistantly at 20lbs in middle not at the knots he's taking it back to shop >

i'd say it;s because the conditions are so different that different characteristics are built into the line, like resilience to high tempretures and baking uv wouldn;t be high for english braid, and the abilty to resist sub zero temps etc, i could be wrong though.
