    What's a retractor?

I have just bought SureCatch pliers which includes a sheath and a 'retractor'. It's a doubled piece of black ribbon in a small retractable round case and it pulls out about 40cms. But what does it do? Any suggestions please.
    Thanks

I thought a retractor was something you used in high school for measuring angles?.....

I'm pretty sure that it's somebody who uses the Russian Roulette technique of contraception - coitus interruptus

Actually think it might be a gizmo for tying tools to the end of - as per this web site:

don't quite get what the advantage is - but trout fishermen are an eccentric mob

    G'day Forester!
Mate, they are used for items such as line clippers etc. You pin them on your shirt so they are always handy. Great for small items, but not much good for stuff like the pliers they came with!!

Its to stop you dropping them when you are out on a boat/wharf/groyne etc. You hook your tools to it and then you wont lose them (in theory)

It's an excuse to get your missus to dress up in a nurses uniform [smiley=evil.gif]

Then when you are filleting the fish you say in an authoritive voice

    "sponge ----- scalpel ----- retractor"

And of course as all good professionals do, you meet for a debriefing after the operation

    cheers,

Owen (Probably hasn't got long to live)

    Hey Guys
Thanks to everyone who made me smile.... and to those who answered my question. I'll have another close look at it now and see what I can do with it.

Could it be somebody you employ to take back something you said that you now regret?
