What rig for jigging?
Have just got myself setup for a go at offshore jigging. Can anyone tell me how to make a suitable leader rig and knots used? I have not seen anything written about the rigs that are used for this type of fishing & a 300g jig, but I would imagine you would need a little more that just tying a length of leader material to the main braid line. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: What rig for jigging?
I make a fifty turn bimini twist in my 80 lb braid and conect this to my leader (125-150 lbs jinkai) with an albright,I like a prety long leader of atleast ten metres this is tied to a strong ring,on this ring goes a 300 lbs split ring and the assist rig,I tend to leave this set up on the rod only retieing it after it shows a bit of ware or catches a good fish that gives it a workout, the jig you choose to fish with can then be placed on the split and changed when you want. All this can be seen in detail as well as the assist rig knots (if you want to tie your own) if you can find the massive jigging thread that was up here a while back,if you decide to tie your own I've found the Gorrila hooks from Owener are brilliant.

I use the same as banshee only 70 turn bimmini with a tony jones leader knot. I find it better than an albright.

bimini twist, then an albright to the leader (120lb jinkai) which I make two rod lengths long.
