Thread: SP care.

    SP care.

Was checking the tackle box for the necessary top ups and noticed two packets of SPs had lost all their liquid.
Whats the drill , I put a couple of tablespoons of fresh water in to stop them drying out.
Does any one know what is the best way to keep them good if #(as in this case) the packet springs a leak.

What plastics are you talking about Rob? Are they Gulps?

Not sure what you would need to do, but it might be worth spending the $10 or so to buy one of the Berkley SP bag holders. They have about 10 "sleeves" in them to store the packets in. I think you've seen the blue folders I've got...?

Doesn't answer your question really, but hopefully will help you not get it again.

    Yes Dan
I forgot to mention , It is the Gulps that have lost their liquid.
Yes , I had the packets rolled up in a case but now I know why you need the SP bag holders

    Re: SP care.

I accidentally dried out a pkt of new gulps....no problems rehydrating them with water and reseal the packet......they came back like new.

Hehe......that's because they don't have to pay $10 a pkt for them.....they would just throw them out if the dried out.....

    Hi Rando,

I make my ownSP's and use a anise flavored worm oil (ordered from US via internet) which is reletivly inexpensive, It has the texture of your avereage cooking oil, so I wonder if sunflower oil would be better than water to rehydrate your gulps?

    rando,

I read recently that one Bloke soaks his dried out gulp in olive oil and a little garlic, it can't hurt
