    Nope!
The symetre has an aluminium body too! (except the 750Fi which is a bit of both)
I had the same look when choosing a reel last year and i went with the symetre 4000. V. Happy with it and Themisses got me a symetre 2500 for my birthday this week so I'm extra happy now

    cheers, roo

    Re: Symetere and stradic

I am interested to hear as well. I have a Symetre as well and find it a very good reel for the money. Have thought about getting a Stradic, but if there is no internal difference, I will not bother.

    Re: Symetere and stradic

I have an older stradic, great little reel, has given me 6 years of service so far and is still going strong. I also have a Symetre 2500. Nice little reel also, except it doesn't have all the bearings which it states it should. Place where I bought it from is investigating, or so they tell me. Otherwise, great little reels and value for money. Will be buying a few more soon. Unless I win powerball and can afford Stella's. LOL

iv got a 1500 and 2500 both great reels, the smaller is for bream and flatties work, and the 2500 has handled big jacks, trevs and flatties. great value for money.

I have been looking at the stradic 2500 - appears to be a great, smooth, light weight reel. And with the 2 spools, can't go wrong. Best price I have seen around Sydney has been around $200. This sound a fair price or know if you can get better?

Around $200.00 is about right. They use to be around $250.00 here not so long ago. Though up here in Brisbane we seem to get different chain stores taking turns on having good deals on Shimano. That is probably why the saint got one for that price.

    Re: Symetere and stradic

I have both a Symetre 2500 and a stradic 2500 and i use the spare stradic spool on the symetre.
Fits like a glove and although the symetre drag is smooth i reckon the stradic drag is a little smoother.
    Just some food for thought.
Both reels are excellent value for money and perform like a true Shimano reel should.

    Re: Symetere and stradic

Pick up a Stradic and Symetre and feel the difference. Stradic feels superior IMHO
Great little Jap made reel for the money and in my opinion, its undervalued
