Thread: Stimulate with Ultrabite

    Re: Stimulate with Ultrabite

    Hi guys

I bought the liquid and the berley pellets and to be honest it didn't impress me that much, and even though I was careful with the bag, the left over berley pellets went moldy in the tackle box & next time I went to use it it was just a hairy blob of sh1t !!

Threw it in the drink and thought it might bring them on the bite, but nothinig happened, they were probably all down there coughing their guts up !!

I use the aerosol one on my plastics and agree with JEWEL that it is good when your gulp loses its packet smell.

The thing about livies eating themselves made me laugh though Kev.

If you really won't your Sp's to closely match that of a real bait, why not use a real bait and save your money. L.Wilson Co now have the Food Source lures out now that resemble SPs but are made of real food.
They don't degrade quickly, are reusuable and are healthy for the environment as well.

used the spray several times on sps in the eastuary
made some difference but only minimal would take alot of trial to be sure.

I've used the spray a couple of times chasing Barra with SP's under the Mission river bridge in Weipa. Not sure if the success was due to ultrabite or the moon / tide phase.

Ive had a spray on can of it for awile, and will test it out this weekend at Chillagoe. Ive never fished at Chillagoe before, and im not sure what the population of fish is like there, but i will give the Ultrabite a test.

Tip : Tuna oil + Fresh bait = friggin $hitloads of fish.

This may sound stupid, but do you think there is any merit in giving a live bait a quick spray?
don't know whether it actually works as advertised or not but my mate bought a bottle and we squirted a shot on the head of a garry in the bait pool - it went absolutley ballistic for about 15mins then carked it.

might have lived if it was stuck on a hook and chucked back in the water though... if nothing the extra kicking from the livie will attract predators for sure!

tried with sSP's - definitely got increased bit4es, but found that it seemed to excite the pickers in the nursery rather than mums and dads

I went fishing with 3 other blokes last night at the same spot and I was the only one putting on the Ultrabite spray on my strips of fresh Grinner and I was the only one who was getting hits every 5 to 10 minutes. This went on for hours. IMO this stuff is great value and a good investment to have in your tackle box.

I have been using the spray for years on Barra lures and find it works OK. It definatley attracts more catties!! but the barra dont seem to mind it either. Its hard to 'prove' if it works. I believe it definately masks the human (suncream, petrol, rum etc) and weed smells that build up on lures.

I never thought of using the spray for barra fishing ... I use it breamin!.... Good point on the sunscreen etc ....... I'm paranoid about bug spray & sunblock on my hands ( sometimes I even use disposable rubber gloves to apply the stuff )

( I tried Dizzy Garlic scent at Awoonga .... with OK results)

jus as a matter of interest, I wonder how it would work compared to simple traditional concoctions such as tuna oil with garlic ir anaseed.

Hard to beat a good dipping in tuna oil for SW fishing IMHO ..... the volume of scent dispersing through the water column is significant ......... You can in the right conditions see the slick for a fair distance
