    Az,
    I have the 4000 symetre with 10lb Fins braid......never had a wind knot. ever. I also have a Diawa samurai 7i 4000 with 15lb penn mariner mono and it has suffered from wind knots after repeated casting i think the spool was too full but will get better with time (after ripping off the top 30-40 m of knotted line ). I think the braid (Not fused) is definatly the go.

    yeh? never heard of wind knots in mono

    i got some 14lb fireline to give a crack on my tss4 so i'll see how it goes

    im using 14 lb pink fireline on okumo 80 spinning for tailor,big casts get a good fight too,was getting knots with 20 lb remington braid so took it off.

    ended up splurging a little this afternoon and bought myself a new rod for the symetre to call home...

    9foot 4-6 kilo live fibre
