Has anyone out there ever put a tape measure on their brag mat to see how accurate they realy are? I heard a story that made me wonder and our local tackel shops have not had any in stock for awhile other wise I would go and measure one myself,
cheers

remember the 2 sided rules haven't seen them for ages.
1 side was correct the other well!!!!
Got me thinkin,
measured it up and about 4-5 mm out every 30cm. looks like due to the folds. when you straighten out comes good.

Being a wet windy weekend, I made myself a proper fish measuring stick/ruler whatever. #
Kinda went a bit overboard insofar as the joint is dowell jointed ( so that nothing will corrode), cut some hand holds into it, used the router to made nicely rounded edges, grain filled the surfaces and now ready to estapol before applying a fish measuring sticker to the top long surface. #The 'official' ones that they show in the fishing rules brochure have a metal rule embedded but when I looked at the price of the metal rules, I decided that the $5 sticker versions will do the job. #
A really genuine overkill but what the heck, it was fun making it. #
