Silver Texalium Rods

I know were talking texalium here. But the M10 live fibre impressed me. i didn't even know they made them until my bro turned up with one.
they have the ally gimble and reel seat over the plastic gimble and seat the texies have.
They probably wanted to cut the weight down and save manufacture costs on the texies when they went for the plastic gimble and reel seat??? having said that i've had nothing but fun with my texalium.
As far as the guides go they are different but the fuji's i've found very good but it's like all things that are hard you get to that point when the material is too hard and becomes brittle and shatter, I've built a few custom rods and have used the best fuji guides only to find them crack out as well, not from fishing but a bump here and there doesn't do them a lot of good.

I had a Texalium 8-15kg Spin and didn't like it. Crap guides and very heavy for the asking price. For less money, i bought a T-Curve 7ft 6" 15-24kg Bluewater Spin. Now there is one serious rod

I've got a Blue series Live Fibre has full sic guides ( 15kg short stroker ) and its still cheaper than the texalium rod. Its a awesome rod.

Fishing writer, guide, boat show coordinator, Bill Cortin uses Texalium Live Fibre rods, they can't be all that bad considering the usage that he gets out of them.

I think you will find that Bill has a commercial arrangement with/and is sponsored by Wilsons so that is hardly an unbiased opinion of the rods.

For the money there are a lot better rods around and the texaliums are not worth the extra over the standard live fibre. IMHO

I was chating to the guy that makes my rods yesterday and he told me that a very well known and respected maker of australian rod blanks tried to incorparate aluminiun wrap into there blanks about 10 years ago but found after a while that the aluminium reacted with the resin in the blanks and they started to delaminate so it will be very interesting to see what happens with the texaliums.

It would'nt have been a reaction more like bad compaction. You simply cant roll this around around a fine diameter.
