whar gear are you using
heh guys, just want to get a feel of what everybody is using tosiing lures at bream and snapper. I know this has been done before but due to new products coming and people upgrading etc, the stuff people are using has changed.
Thanks Scott

Re: whar gear are you using
Gday Scott,
I use a berkley dropshot rod (2-4kg) matched with a shimano symetre 1500 reel loaded with 6lb fireline.
This outfit I use for fishing with SP's and small lures in the estuaries, for bread and butter species like bream and flatties.

Re: whar gear are you using
I have 2 combos, 1 for small estuary stuff and one heavier for offshore and big plastics.
Small: Shimano Sahara and Steve Starling Squidegee spin with 6lb fireline (soon to become my girlfriends combo) and i am upgrading to a certate 2000 and a loomis of some sort.
Heavy: Loomis 7'7" 10-17lb Bronzeback and my reel should be here next week from japan, Daiwa certate 3000 with PE1.5 braid.

Re: whar gear are you using
I am using a Gloomis GLX Extra fast action 7.1 foot rod and a Diawa Certate 2500 R custom reel. This rig is perfectly matched for the bay and bass fishing. I have it loaded with 20lbs PE briad. My other combo is a Studwick sick stick and a Diawa SOL 2500 which is a very good bream setup as well.

Re: whar gear are you using
Bream
1 x 6'6" 2-4kg Berkley Dropshot. JW 1000 reel. 4lb Fireline with 6lb Vanish F/C leader
1 x 7'0" 1-3kg Nitro Bream Finesse. Shimano Sedona 1500. 2lb Platypus Super Braid & 6lb Bass Hard Pro Braid. 6lb Vanish F/C leader
Squire
1 x 7'0" 2-5kg Pflueger Trion. Shimano Sienna 2500. 6lb Fireline with 12lb Yamatoyo F/C leader
If I change any more rods I will get Shimano Raider rods. When I change some reels I will probably give some Diawa's a go.

Re: whar gear are you using
My current weapon of choice is a 7ft Daiwa Battler Flanker 6kg stick with a Shimano Metanium XT baitcaster, loaded with 10lb FINS braid. Best outfit i've ever had. Can't keep my hands of it.
