BLA Jacket How Good Are They????

Pick up a jacket yesterday, brand name is BLA Ocean Tex, just wondering how good are they????
Any thoughts on it???

What a coincidence that you should ask how good BLA jackets are. Yesterday I put my BLA jacket in the washing machine and when I pulled it out again I saw the waterproof lining had detached itself from the fabric and had ripped itself to shreds - it could be easily pulled apart by hand. I had worn it a few times while fishing in the rain and once on a charter when I was getting amazing amounts of water dumped on me as we backed up into the wind (three guys with buckets couldn't have thrown more water on me, I reckon!), and I thought it was great - totally waterproof and comfortable. At least I've still got the pants that came with the jacket.
Anyway, I just thought I'd warn you about putting it in a washing machine, if it's the same kind of BLA jacket I had. Mine cost 30 or 40 dollars. It would probably be fine to wash it by hand - I don't know. I liked the BLA jacket more than the much stiffer PVC jackets, and I'm hoping to buy another one this week if I can find one.

Yeah I've got one and I reckon it's a champion. As mentioned before, don't put it in the washing machine. The only thing I've done with it is change the drawstring material in the hood. Have had it for a year or so now and it's just the thing for me in NQ, not too heavy and keeps you warm enough when it's coolish this time of year and really does keep you dry in some pretty fierce rain. Good jacket for the price.
