    Help with TSS4 - Please!

    I picked up a Shimano TSS4 - My first.

Upon unpacking it, I could only fit the handle to the left side.

I will not fit on the right side of the reel, despite there being a cap on the right side saying
    "reversible handle"

The handle has a left hand thread that tightens when wound forwards.

The handle will only go into the socket from the left side.

Have I been given a left handed TSS4, or are they supposed to be reversible?

All of the pictures I have seen of the TSS4 have the handle fitted to the right hand side.

I know that you should crank from the left on single handed rods, but with the two handed rod I have for the TSS4, I would prefer to crank right-handed.

Or............. Am I an idiot that can't figure out how to fit the handle to the right hand side?

I would like some sort of confirmation either way before I go back to the tackle shop and make a real Wally of myself.

No such thing as a left hand TSS4, all Tss4's are left or right hand.. take it to the store and get them to change it for ,you

There's probably a little plastic insert that has to come out of the side of the main gear....Take out and put onto the l/h side of maingear.

Can anyone tell me how I can fit a left hand threaded handle (as in pic) into a right hand thread which is on right side of body.

    Maybe its been made bodgy.

I have had two independent witnesses here that attest to the impossibility of fitting it to the right side of the reel.

It's a dodgy reel methinks. Look closely at the pics.

I would leave the handle on the left after a while you'll get used to it and you'll be a better fisherman . It's best practice to wind the reel with your non-dominant hand! You cast with and control the rod with you dominant hand this way after casting you dont change hands and when slug chucking this can be a real advantage.

Ps. I relaize this wasn't the answer you were after but you should consider it!!!
Alcohol doesn't agree with me, but i sure do enjoy the argument!!!

Re: Help with TSS4 - Please!

Doubt it will be dodgy, the handle winds on either side "L or R " and tightens when wound towards the front like when you are winding line in..... This works when handle is inserted either side... ...
the thread is oposite directions on both sides of the reel otherwise when winding in under drag pressure the handle could wind off.... This is the same for all spinning reels
