Ventilation is best. maybe place a small desk fan to blow the fumes away from you. I usually make sinkers outside, and find the fumes only go as far as the neighbours

I found that the neighbours never minded that I was making sinkers on the day , as I didn't tell them ( what the stink was).

    Hey you guys.
Sinker moulds these days. When I was a kid we used to use an old spoon. punch a hole in the top with a roofing nail and away we'd go. Oh and melt the lead in a baked bean can over the open fire.
How sophisticated we are now that we have moulds.
Just thought i'd get nostalgic and remember the good old days.
    Cheers

Castiron pot' fire out the backyard put the lead in the pot sit your mould on the edge of the fire to heat it up. Now you need somthing to clamp the mould together!!! say a G clamp or a vice. I have mine hinged together . You also need a ladle. # # #So the lead is in the pot you will know when its ready it will get a blue colour . # # Your mould is hot and in the G clamp making sure it won't fall over when you pour the lead in . Put the wire in i use s/steel wire pour the lead in with the ladle let the lead set pull the wire out open the mould and thats all there is to it . Now saftey gear you need good gloves like say welders gloves and good saftey glasses. Goodluck
