How old are these hooks??
I inherited some of my father-in-laws fishing gear recently. One of the items was this matchbox-sized box of hooks, whihc are in perfect condition by the way.
Does anyone know how old they might be? I've never seen hooks packaged like this before.

Heya Fozzy
I think you will find they are from around the mid 70's to late 80's. The earlier ones from that period had heavy waxed paper inside those boxes. Looks like your father in law didn't mind chasing a feed of whiting in his day with the no 4 or maybe no6 long shank the weapon of choice for a lot of fishos.

G'day
We have a couple of those exact boxes here in the shed when we moved in. Absolutly "showroom" condition

Re: How old are these hooks??
Thanks for the feedback fella's. The FIL was an absolute bowerbird and I would have picked 'em as much older than that. At least I'll get to put them thru their paces instead of sitting in the bottom of a tacklebox

Ditto , ditto Fozzy.
Looking at that box starts an old reminiscing trend.
Thanks,

I was using carlisles in the 50's in the UK. Good hook for flatfish such as flounders and plaice.
