New to this and just after some advice as to what people recommend for boating rods. Only a novice at this stage. Looking for advice for outside fishing rods. Your thoughts appreciated
Are you looking at an overhead or a spin rod and what line weight. Spend a few bucks and get something good & give it a good clean every time you come home & it will last for years. But take the time to get what you are comfortable with that is important don't get cheap cr@p because in the end it may let you down. And don't just go with one opinion, hope that will help you good luck in finding the new outfit.
Gidday Cribby,
What have you been using in the past??
Where are you planning to fish??
What species are you trying to target??
Personally, in the boat in estuaries, I use a very light rod and and old 4" Alvey and target anything silly enough to jump on my hook. Does the job for me But I also know this combo is not everyones (hardly anyones ) cup of tea. I'm just tight
take a look at the shimano backbone elites(overhead) and the shimano spectrum plus(spin) both rods where around the $100.00 mark, their durable, robust, strong and can handle a full days fishing. Both rods are the 15kg rating.
Oops, didn't see the outside bit. My mistake fellas. Sorry
Yep, true what the other fellas have said.
Spend a few dollars now and you won't be dissappointed when/if you get a whale of a fish on and your elcheapo reel blows apart.
