Daiwa Sol or Shimano Twinpower

Hello everyone,
Im thinking of getting a Sol Or Twinpower for bream fishing and matching it with a 7'0 Tcurve rod and im wondering if anyone out there has used one of these reels and has had any trouble with it or have herd any bad reports on them.

Go the sol, drag system is better, imo thats the most important aspect of a light threadie

Troy Slightly off topic...
Do you own the T Curve? Just that ive recently got one to replace a broken 7" Finesse Bream raider (Wife decided to "help" and get the rod out of the car ).
Its not a "bad" rod but i have to say i pefered the raider. The T curve is slightly stiffer in the top end which is fine for heavier jigheads (2g and up) but for the light stuff the raider was much nicer for casting...

I've got a SOL and love it. It comes with a spare spool which is definately handy a plus.
i've never felt a twin power so i wouldnt be to sure about them.
In sizes, the SOL starts of at a 2000 size which is what i use for breaming..
The twin-power sizes start from 1000 which i would prefer for breaming.. just because its lighter..

A dollar each way.They're both good reels just depends if your a Shimano or Daiwa person.Cant go wrong with them.

I'd go with the Twin Power only because its made in Japan. I don't know how companies can justify getting their reels made using cheap labour yet still charge "Made in Japan" prices.......that stinks!

If the Sol was $150 i'd buy it but at $300 i'd want Japan made reels.

I'd probably choose the twin power. However, as Archer said, you may find the Tcurve a little stiff for the breamin

ive got the 1 to 8 gram, 2 to 4 kg Tcurve and a 6'8 Raider Rod and i find the Tcurve much lighter than the Raider

I have a 2500 twin power that I use for shallow water snapper fishing. Have had no problems yet.

I have a couple of the 6'6 2-4kg T-Curves both with Sustain 1000's. Absolutely love them - had to buy a second one for the missus as she was feeling left out with older gear.

Just my opinion but T-Curves and Shimano's are a great combination and pretty well priced for the quality and feel.

I do not own a Twinpower but do own 5 Sustain's in various sizes and think they are pretty good.

I would go the 1000 size as it is lighter in the hand for throwing plastics all day, it also adds to the fun a catching bigger fish on a smaller out fit. The biggest I have caught to date is a 2.6kg squire on the 1000 with 6 pound PE braid - was an absolute heap of fun on the light gear chasing it with the boat etc.

In the end just go with what feels the best and fits the budget.

You will find the smaller Twinpower is identical or nearly identical to the Sustain .
