G'day
Quick note, there is a bright eyes store up at DFO. They have spotters and the other brands at brilliant prices.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Sepultallica, you obviously like Metallica and Sepultra, good bands by the way , and where the hell did you get 70% off? SundownMarine will you's ever have 70% off , if you do BLOODY HELL!!!give us a bell . CHEERS woody
Spotters are definitely worth their money. It all depends on whether you're type of bloke who losses their sunglasses pretty often. If you do lose them then you're better off with cheapies. I've had mine for 5 years and they're still going strong, before that I had 2 pairs of mako's (not glass) which both delaminated but replaced with warranty. I really liked the mako's but then bit the bullet and bought a pair of spotters (glass) and I haven't looked back, well worth the money.
Cheers

I have Maui Jims and would not consider another brand at all..best I have ever had..not cheap but are light and fantastic.
Woody74,
70% off what price is the question ..............We will have them at the Boat Show at very prices if you are there.

I'm not up on these things - what exactly are 'spotters' sunglasses, and how do they differ from the $30 polarised sunnies I got from the Cancer Council shop (which are damn good cheap sunnies by the way)?
Dazza, I might be getting in touch with you - I want something for when I'm out in the boat.....I'm assuming since I have bad eye sight (-4.75 & -3.25 or about that), the lenses are extra thick and extra heavy??? Wearing contacts in the breeze on the boat aint comfortable. Any chance of a pic (or link) to what the frames you are offering look like. A review from the member you sold a pair to would be good too.....
By the way guys, why are these said to be so heavy????? Is the lense material heavy? Will the prescription lenses make them like I'm walking around with bricks on my face?
abitfishy
in your case you would be better off going with the plastic or polycarb lenses wich will reduce the weight.
Feel fre to give me a call and i can explain the thickness and weight thing. Will be much easier over the phone. At the speed i type i would be here all night
I will be speaking to the member who picked his specs up this week and will ask him to put a review up on them.
He was quoted $250.00 for the prescription single vision polarised lenses only.I supplied them for $80.00.
Will be happy to help you out.

Hey Dazza,
Mate, I have those (photo something or other) lenses that change colour and they don't work when I'm in the car. On the bike no worries..Is this right??
Cheers and where are you?
Scott
how much are your eyes worth i own a pair
hi guys
just bought a pair of spotters at springwood marine today got them on sale as well as ausfish discount.
they are the polarised glass and worked out at $180.00 and we were pleased with that.
Thanks springwood Marine
Owned a set of Mako's and still do, my eyes suit Spotters 200% better though. I have found that i can see a lot deeper in the water column with Spotters compared to my Mako's. Would suggest them more so then Mako's.
Scott
That is right. The lenses are activated by UV so if you are in the car you are not exposing the lenses to the UV rays therefore they will not go as dark as they would in full sun.

i have copied this from a different thread
take a look at these they are made by the creators of bolle
http://www.habervision.com/CodeResul...e&entered=true
you can get high quality optically correct glass lens photochromatic polarised glasses available in various styles and tints including amber at half rrp
they are as good (if not better than spotters) but work out at $133.00 delivered to your door
actually for about $110 till sept 30 as they have free postage till the
i did a lot of checking before i bought my first pair loved them so much i signed myself up as a affinity rep any questions just ask

I've had Mako, bolle and ziess and thier good , but spotters suit my eyes better or something cause I can see deeper and clearer in the water , I use them all the time at work and fishing,I get a lot of use out of them as I ám in the sun all day.
i'm on my second set ,at two and a half + years a set, I'm happy.
This time I got the photocromatic lens instead of the mirrored lens. I do preferr the amber lens as appossed to the grey but this is a matter of choice ,as is the set of glasses you get .
My advice is try a few different makes and decide yourself cause they're your eyes and they are not the same as mine anyone elses .
Just a bit on maintenance , every night I wash my spotters in warm soapy water to get the sweat, grime and oil out , and tighten the arms when they need it and they'll last. The reason I'm on my second set is the first set got dropped and got a crack in the edge of the lens they now reside in the boat permanently for those times I have forgot the set I normally wear[ which happens occassionaly when leaving to go fishing at 2am]
