    Matching New Braid To Reels

    Hello,

Just need some adive regarding matching brad to my reels for SP fishing.

    I have two SP outfits,

    1. Berkley Dropshot 7,2 2-4kg with a stradic 1000 used for bream/whiting/flathead etc.

    2. Rack Raider 6,8 3-5kg with a stradic 2500 used for squire/snapper etc/larger flathead etc.

I am wanting to load these two reels and the additional spare spools with fireline, to cover me for all esturay/bay sp fishing.

Could anyone point me in the right direction by filling out the table below as in the past i have just been runnng 6lb and 12lb mono on these.

REEL SIZE MAIN SPOOL SPARE SPOOL

    Stradic 1000 ????/lb ????/lb

    Stradic 2500 ????/lb ????/lb

Also if i loaded these with fireline crystal, can anyone tell me does this eliminate the use of Flurocarbon leader? I have plenty of Flurocarbon from 6lb to 14lb but am wondering if fireline crystal eliminates the need for using this flurocarbon leaders. All help is very much appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

    Ismail

    Hey

For the Stradic 1000 I would put 4lb fireline on the main spool and 2lb Fireline crystal on the spare

For the Stradic 2500 I would put 8lb Fireline on the main spool and either 6 or 10lb on the spare.

With fireline crystal you still need to use a Flurocarbon leader as the fireline crystal is not 100% clear in the water.

The guys have got it spot on , just remember that most braids break way above their breaking strain so rather go lighter than heavier.
