Awoonga lures

Hi people,
Heading to Awoonga in the next couple of days and i'm just wondering if anyone has any hints on lure selection for the barra up there, i have a large range of lures but am haveing trouble sorting out selections for the trip , any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated.

A week or so back we had success with Barra classics, Vipers and Lively lures arafura barras. As for colours chrome or gold, plain or with red stripes, and black with a red head were the most productive

Thanks i've got a few of those in my collection now ready for the tackle box, i got a few tilsans aswell would they be worth throwing in aswell?

I am going up there in November. Should be good hopefully.

Anyway I've got quite a mix of Classic Barra's in 120mm, Halco RMG Scorpians in 125mm and 90mm, Halco Poltergeists in 80mm, Halco Laser Pro's in 120mm, Shimano Ocea Dog Walk in 150mm, 70mm small Rapala Skitter Pop and a Jackall TN70 lipless crankbait. I was recommended all of these and have all depth ranges covered from the surface to 7m deep plus a lipless crainkbait.

Though I was also recommended Halco Tilsan Big Barra, Bomber a52's and some other Nils Master and Ecogear Barra lures. The guys at The Tackle Warehouse have a huge range of lures (Esspecially for Barra) and offer 15% off your total price if you buy 10 or more lures which is at least 1 or 2 lures free. One of the guys there practically lives there in Summer time apparently and gives first hand great advice.

I’ve had the most success with B52’s in blue and silver and Predatek vipers in gold or silver. The husky jerks go all right but you will need to change the rings and trebles. Haven’t caught a fish with plastics yet so can’t help you there.

I posted the other day about the Ecogear lure asking if anyone had results. Actually ran into one of the guys who distributes them yesterday and he had just returned from Awoonga. Apparently they work - well!!!! They had a record haul since going there. Not cheap though. No change out of $30 but if you are catching the big barra - happy to pay.

Will let you know in a few weeks after I go up with some in the box.

RMG Scorpions in Black with Red Head and chrome pilchard as well as Classic Barras (I think in Elton John) did the trick.

Thanks guys for the hints on lures, you have givin me a good range of choices try take with me.
I head to Awoonga today and am spending the next four days there hopefully come back with some pics.
