    rod holders

    hi guys ,,,,,was just after a few ideas for rod carriers for my car ,,,i have a crv wagon with no roof racks ,,,what would you guys suggest or what do you guys use ,,,,thanx

    Well I have a Pajero wagon and it doesn't have a bull bar and didn't have roof racks when I got it. So I had the same dilemma and the only option was to have rods running through the car and sticking out a window (if I was surf fishing) or buy roof racks. I decided to go the roof racks. Here is a pic of a board with pvc pipes to hold rods in place that I made to sit on top of the roof racks secured by octopus straps. Easy to remove.

    Hi Jason

    My nephew had the same dilema, so he bought
    these suction cap type mount rod holders,
    and even tho I was dubious about whether they
    would hold or not, he has carried rods off road and up the
    beach for a couple of years now with no dramas yet.

    He does, however, remove the reels.

    What size rods are we talking about matey as some people I know have a set of the rubber ones on the inside up on their roof. Not much chance of getting broken or pinched in there

    mainly 10 - 12ft or over ,,,just for when i go to the coast for a holiday ,
