    Hi All,

Am after a new rod to match a Daiwa Millionaire SW203. Budget is $100-$200. Any suggestions.

    thanks in advance.

The rod choice will depend on a no. of factors, including type of fishing, fish species being targetted and what type of lure / bait you willl be casting etc.

I recently married by Daiwa CVZ205 with a Shimano T-Curve 6-10KG rod for barra fishing if that helps. $165 on special

    cheers

    Hi Ismail

I have an SW203 Millionaire on a Live Fibre 8Kg Baitcaster. The rod is 5'6", has lovely cork grips and fuji guides and retails for around $180-220.

The outfit works well casting lures into tough country and also serves as a nice trolling/light jigging outfit on inshore reefs for small-medium fingermark, jacks, black jew etc.

    Cheers

    Thanks,

I shouldve mentioned I want to use the rod for chasing Jewies, Larger Flathead, Jacks and if I ever get the chance (time of work) Barra up North. I will be casting both hard bodied lures as well as the larger soft placcys. What braid should I put on it?

    Hi Ismail

I reckon that 20 or 30lb braid should be enough - maybe the 30 if you are looking at Jacks and the like up north. 30lb braid takes some breaking but it is still very castable.

    Good luck!
