Multi use fishing outfits
I've just posted on seeking suggestions for a new Bass fishing outfit. It got me thinking about how I (and I suspect many others) have to make one outfit do a number of tasks, particularly as we try to upgrade to better (and more expensive) equipment.
An example is the little baitcaster outfit I've used for years, but am looking to upgrade. It is a Shimano BC200 reel on a Shimano Technium rod. I have it spooled with 10 lb braid. I just change the leader to best fit the target species (given my limited experience with some forms of fishing) . I use 10 lb for Bass and Bream and upgrade to 20 (sometime 40) when targeting Jacks and flathead.
May not be ideal, but seems my only option at the moment.
Anyone got any thoughts on this and how I can improve my multiple use system.

Re: Multi use fishing outfits
Sounds allright to me. As long as your rod is light enough to flick the smaller bass lures, but has enough guts to wrestle a nice jack from its lair, you'll be fine. A 200 size reel should be about spot on for what your doing I reckon, I would even have a crack at Barra with it. 10lb braid is generaly pretty gutsy stuff.
Dave.
